Bioinspired Microswimmers: An Integrated Approach Using Biomaterials, Microfluidics, and Additive Manufacturing

A multidisciplinary framework for the development of bioinspired microswimmers for advanced biomedical applications. The study integrates sustainable biomaterials such as PLA, graphene, and Ocimum sanctum (Tulasi)–based biocomposites with microfluidic systems, bio-mechanical propulsion principles, and 3D/4D additive manufacturing techniques. The designed microswimmers mimic natural locomotion at low Reynolds numbers and are envisioned for applications including targeted drug delivery, minimally invasive surgery, and microfluidic diagnostics. The integrated approach highlights the synergy between material science, fluid mechanics, and biomedical engineering in next-generation healthcare technologies.
