Glove Box Tray (Shelf)

The Glove Box Tray is not the simple shelf offered elsewhere.

This is a unique design which was inspired by reviews of other offerings. The goal, to address any negative feedback of other offerings.

The biggest complaints, Flimsy design and items rolling out.

Why flimsy to begin with? Other shelves need to be flexed to get them into the box, then rely on a tight fit from side to side to hold them in place.

Resolved:

1. Make a rigid Tray, not a simple shelf. The tray has a lip all around it, acting as a beam to eliminate the flex. The lip in the front prevents items from rolling out as well as adding rigidity.

2. Add front of tray inserts that fit into the frame of the compartment. The tray is held in place using pressure from front to rear eliminating the need to flex the tray to install it.  An added benefit of this is the front of the tray can be easily pivited up and out of the way to fit larger items into the compartment below.

The tray has a 2mm thick rubber pad installed . Besides a tacky backing there are also retaining clips keeping the rubber pad in place. The Clips can be removed and you can install your surface of choice as well.  You can remove the pad if you prefer a slightly deeper tray.
