Research Initiative
[ro·nin] /ˈrōnən/ : Samurai without a master
[ry·u] / rēˈo͞o/ : Dragon; Way, discipline
The Rōnin Ryū Research Initiative hosts and promotes open research and educational content, also having the mission to serve as a permanent space for independent researchers to share their work and connect with new people.
Rōnin researchers are emancipated academics who have chosen to practice research as real free-thinkers, who are not constrained by the many limitations and demands of traditional academia, structuring and defending their unique paths with strong commitment and originality.
Ryū, the dragon, is a symbol of power, strong will, wisdom, prosperity, and freedom. The rōnin ryū are the dragon rōnins, independent scholars who have a strong sense of purpose and ethics, always hold transparency in respect, and who are willing to fight as samurais for their values.
The Rōnin Ryū Research Initiative is not a non-profit foundation; as such, no grants are managed by this initiative, nor can RRRI support any funding applications. RRRI costs are limited to digital service costs, which are personally maintained by its founder.
Rōnin Ryū is a seed, the first step of a long journey towards a structured hub for independent scholars.
