"The Good, the Bad, and the Bayesian: Self-Confidence and Algorithmic Advice", with Fabian Gerstmeier, and Michel Tolksdorf
Working paper available at SSRN: https://ssrn.com/abstract=7145640 or http://dx.doi.org/10.2139/ssrn.7145640
We study how self-confidence shapes the use of algorithmic advice in an online age-prediction experiment. The paper shows that algorithmic advice affects not only point predictions but also confidence in final judgments, and that participants systematically underutilize high-quality advice relative to a Bayesian benchmark.
"Generalized Assurance Mechanism in Threshold Public Goods Provision: Theory and Experiment", with Zhi Li, Jie Zheng, and Penfei Liu
Working paper available upon request (latest version: 08.2026, discussion paper at the 2026 ESA European Conference).
Develops and experimentally tests a generalized assurance mechanism for threshold public goods, showing that fixed contribution thresholds with zero marginal assurance can improve coordination, reduce miscoordination-induced non-provision, and increase welfare.
"Who Gets to Decide? Leader Selection and the Acceptance of Inequality", with Xin Zhang
Work in progress.
Develops a laboratory experiment on how leader selection procedures affect workers' beliefs and acceptance of workplace inequality, disentangling belief-based channels from direct procedural legitimacy effects.
