Career Day, rebranded as B.E.C. Day (Black Excellence in Careers), aimed to revolutionize traditional career exploration programs by celebrating the achievements of professionals of color and providing diverse role models for 8th-grade students. The project sought to inspire and empower students to explore various career pathways through engaging presentations, discussions, and mentorship opportunities.Â
As the project lead for B.E.C. Day, my responsibilities included conceptualizing the event, coordinating with stakeholders, inviting speakers, organizing logistics, and overseeing day-of activities. I provided leadership, guidance, and support to ensure the success of the project and its impact on our students.
