I was born long before that and started the guitar in the late 60's but where I am now got it's kick in from high school (Perryville HS) and being asked to play in the Jazz Band. With that request I freshened up on what I had learn and spend many days at my friend Terry King (TJ). He played bass and we did jazz band together.
That led into my/our first band "Epitaph". We played current (70's) and 60's classic rock tunes. (Terry, Danny Webb, Roger Prost and me)
A popular band from the 60's, "Saratoga Trunque" had some member move away so I got to step in and restructure it. I am not a lead player so I reached out to my Epitaph lead player, Roger Prost to join us. The Trunque was pretty popular and had regular monthly gigs all year long.
In the later 80's we formed a band called "DV8" playing the 60's, 70's and a few from the 80's. (Jim Schott, Roger, Ron and Steve Dobbelare)
After a few years off I started playing with the same lead player in acoustic classic rock trio (Vintage Classic Rock).
About 2012 I started playing in a Praise & Worship Team and in 2013 the drummer and I started Deja Vu playing classic tunes with some older country tunes mixed in. Along the way I started doing some solo gigs while also playing in a group called NightShift & NightVu. (Bill Villmer, Dave Solomon, Mike Ramsey)
Bill Villmer played lead with me in Deja Vu, Night Vu and Night Shift as well as a Duo we called Carefree Highway.
For the past five years I have had played a lot of duos with Bill Santoyo and he still joins me on my playing in Florida a few times a year.
The crowd determines the music selection. It can be an evening of country or an evening of classic rock but the majority end up being a mix and lots of reqyest.
