I come from a Hindu brahmin family (natives of Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh). I was born and raised in Ahmedabad (often called the Manchester of India). I have travelled to and lived in quite a few places across India. I have been a science enthusiast for as long as I can remember, and love reading just about anything. Below is a list of top-ten recommended educational YouTube channels, that I strongly recommend:
Royal Institution
Veritasium
Sixty Symbols
3blue1brown
Crash Course
Supply Chain Brain - (for people with interest in supply chains)
Think School
Andy Stapleton - (for PhD students)
Cleo Abram
Kathy Loves Physics & History
For people who are into books, I can absolutely recommend two books for any business PhD student 1) Thinking Fast and Slow by Daniel Kahneman, and 2) Age of Revolutions by Fareed Zakaria.
I follow a pure vegetarian diet and deeply care about animals and child education. Before WHU, I was full-time employed by a Government of India PSU (Coal India Ltd. / कोल इंडिया लिमिटेड). I assisted General Manager (Industrial Engineering) in management and supply of explosives to approximately 36 operational coal mines in and around Dhanbad. It was an interesting experience living in Dhanbad (especially, I miss Gaya Singh Litti 😋). Some OC (Open Cast) coal mine snaps below. Not many people know but the modern theory of management was originated in the mining industry. Henry Fayol's (who was a French mining engineer) 14 principles of management laid some of the foundation stones of how businesses are structured and function today. Not to mention the contributions of F.W. Taylor (the first Industrial Engineer) on scientific theory of management who bolstered data-driven management.
