During the Coronavirus "Lockdowns" of 2020 we were only allowed to walk for exercise from home and maintain "social distancing". This website gives ideas for some Romsey "exercise" walks used during the "Lockdowns" of 2020.
Make your way to Sadlers Mill and follow the map from there. Take the footpath away from the river, between the mill and the first house, then turn immediately right and head off through the fields.
There are some narrow stretches of path, but social distancing is achievable by stepping off to the side.
Although there is really only one right of way through Squab Wood, there are some unofficial paths that allow one to avoid others.
When you come out of the wood, turn right and take the footpath through Roke Manor.
4 km. We started in Woodley Lane and headed up the wide cycle/walking path towards King's Chase. Round the allotments and out opposite the Hillier entrance.
Go through the side pedestrian gate, currently open to allow access to the public footpath. When the path meets the Braishfield Road again, turn left along the paved path. There is a permissive path signposted running parallel on the left, if you take this, it gives more space to socially distance.
