The Romanian Society of Medical Informatics (SRIM – Societatea Română de Informatică Medicală) and Romanian Academy of Medical Sciences (ASM - Academia de Științe Medicale)  welcomes you to the 36th RoMedINF Conference. The RoMedINF 2021 is planned to be held as a virtual event according to SRIM Council decision. The Conference is organized by the SRIM and the Scientific Programme Committee is chaired by Acad. Prof. Dr. Gheorghe-Ioan Mihalaş (IMIA - International Medical Informatics Association), Prof. Dr. Eng. Lăcrămioara Stoicu-Tivadar (EFMI - European Federation of Medical Informatics) and Prof. Dr. Sorana D. Bolboacă (SRIM President).

The RoMedINF 2021 goal is to connect heath technology companies, researchers and practitioners across the globe.

Keynote and Invited Speakers

Casimir A. KULIKOWSKI, Ph.D.

Professor Casimir A. KULIKOWSKI is Board of Governors Professor of Computer Science, Rutgers University, and a Member of the US National Academy of Medicine, Fellow of AAAI, AAAS, ACMI, AIMBE, IAHSI, IEEE and IMIA (Hon). He was Vice-President of IMIA from 2001 to 2012, and is Chair of the IMIA History Working Group.

Catherine E. CHRONAKI

Catherine CHRONAKI is Secretary General of HL7 Europe and EFMI President (2020-2022). Computer Scientist by training, she is active in Digital Health Policy and Standards for 20+ years. She coordinated Trillium Bridge on International Patient Summary standards under the EU-US MoU on eHealth. She co-leads x-eHealth innovative communities of practice on European EHR exchange format and the FAIR4Health certification roadmap. She serves on the European Commission eHealth Stakeholders group. 

Jean-Philippe COBBAUT, Ph.D.

Jean-Philippe COBBAUT is Professor of Medical Ethics at the Catholic University of Lille, France where he runs the Center of Medical Ethics. As Lawyer and philosopher, he is interested in ethical issues raised by modern medicine and the impact of the evolution of contemporary medicine on the role of caregivers, organizations and public policies. He is also co-holder of the “Law and Ethics of Digital Health” chair.

Smaranda BELCIUG, Ph.D.

Assoc. Prof. Smaranda BELCIUG is the author of the two books: Intelligent Decision Support Systems – a journey to smarter healthcare, Springer and Artificial Intelligence in Cancer: diagnostic to tailored treatment, Elsevier, which can be found at MIT, Stanford, John Hopkins or NIH. Her research interest is Artificial Intelligence applied in the healthcare system and statistics. 

Luiza SPIRU, Ph.D., M.D.

Luiza SPIRU is Professor of Geriatrics, Gerontology and Old Age Psychiatry since 2013, Chair of the Department within “Carol Davila” University of Medicine in Pharmacy in Bucharest since 2004. Luiza is the president of the Ana Aslan International Foundation (AAIF), established in 2000 in Bucharest – an NGO dedicated to create, develop and deliver state-of-the-art integrated education, R&D programs in Innovation and Technology use for elderly adults, medical services in the field of Cognitive Delay, AAL research and Longevity Medicine.

Tijs VANDEMEULEBROUCKE, Ph.D.

Tijs VANDEMEULEBROUCKE (1991) holds Master’s degrees in both Theology and Religious Studies (KU Leuven, 2013) and Philosophy (KU Leuven, 2015). He obtained his PhD with a study on the ethics of the use of Socially Assistive Robots in aged-care settings (KU Leuven, 2019). In this study he made use of by qualitative empirical and theoretical philosophical-ethical research methods. He was inspired by grounded theory, phenomenology, critical social theory, and care ethics.

Dario SACCHINI, Ph.D., M.D.

Dario SACCHINI is Assoc. Prof. of Bioethics at the Department of Healthcare Surveillance and Bioethics, Universita Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Rome, Italy. He is co-chair of HTAi Interest group on Ethics, a member of EACME and a corresponding member of the Pontifical Academy of Life. His main research fields/projects are HTA ELSI domains and clinical ethics consultations. Dario authored more than 300 publications.
