FRAS aims to organize, arbitrate and develop the practice of motor sports in Romania.
The purpose of FRAS is to manage, coordinate, organize and promote the entire activity of sports motoring carried out in the territory of Romania, in the interest of the affiliated members and for attracting new practitioners or supporters and supporters of motor sport.
Automobile The Romanian Club (ACR) is the largest automobile club in Romania. The club was founded on April 5, 1904 in the honor hall of the Boulevard Hotel in Bucharest. During the same year, ACR subsidiaries were organized, in the localities where there were cars - 2-3 in number, such as: Botosani, Brăila, Craiova, Iași, Ploiești, Râmnicu Sărat, Târgu Jiu. Romania was among the top 10 countries in Europe and among the first 14 in the world to form a car club. A few months later, in September 1904 the first car race in Romania organized by the ACR takes place on the Bucharest - Giurgiu - Bucharest route (120 km), our country being among the first 6 countries in the world that organized car competitions, after France, USA. , Germany, Italy and Austria. The contest was won by George Valentin Bibescu with an hourly average of 66 km / h.
A few years ago, more precisely on April 22, 2002, a handful of people all gathered in Bogdan (Mazda RX8) were setting up a Club. We were like brothers, we were all one for all and all for one, and we were thinking about racing legally.
Then we came up with the idea of making a Sports Association. Days in a row I ran after documents, after approvals, lawyers .... and finally came a CLUB ..... but not any Club !!!!!!! FIRST RACING CLUB IN ROMANIA !!!!!!!!
We called the No Speed Limit Sports Association.
In 2006, according to the new regulations of the Ministry of Sport, the name changed to:
>>>>>> ASSOCIATION SPORTS CLUB NO SPEED LIMIT ROMANIA <<<<<<
The MIDNIGHT RACERS club was established in 2006.
The founding members are
Bănaru George Mihai (MICUTZU) and Mihai Valeriu (TANO).
At first the MIDNIGHT RACERS club was a group of friends linked to the same great passion for cars and motor sports, at the beginning of 2006 being one of the oldest / most stable and important clubs in the country with over 70 members, branches in 3 other cities and even a branch abroad, in the Republic of Moldova. Also in 2006, eager to be officially recognized, we took the necessary steps and succeeded in becoming the ASSOCIATION CLUB SPORTIV MIDNIGHT RACERS, recognized and registered at FRAS (Romanian Federation of Motoring and Sport). The members of this club participated in more than 60 legal competitions, in which they managed to obtain numerous prizes. At this moment we also have three pilots in CNR (National Rally Championship): Onoriu Daniel, Pârvu Dragoş and Sorin Iliescu. Over time, the competitive reality and the desire to have a better organization have created 6 groups: MR DRAG SQUAD, MR DRIFT SQUAD, MR SOUND SQUAD, MR SHOW SQUAD, MR BIKER SQUAD, MR ATV SQUAD. This club wants to create an ideal environment for the performance and the affirmation of the lovers of the auto-motorcycle sports !!! For us it matters less what car or motorcycle you have at the accession, if you have the ambition to achieve performance in at least one of the 6 areas.
FRM has been affiliated with the International Motorcycle Federation since 1927 (at that time FIM was called the International Federation of Motorcycle Clubs F.I.C.M. and was based in London). The FIM currently consists of 111 national federations, which are divided continental for better coordination. The history of the International Motorcycling Federation begins in 1904, in Paris. From 1912 the federation moved its headquarters to London, so that from 1959 the FIM offices were hosted in Geneva. The name of the International Motorcycling Federation (Fédération Internationale Motocycliste) was adopted in 1949, the year in which the famous race was organized for the first time: Road Racing World Championship Grand Prix (current MotoGP).
It is no coincidence that Romania can be proud of a history of sports motorcycling that is almost confused with the world history of motorcycling. Everything is closely related to the primary place held by Romania in terms of oil exploitation. Romania was the first country in the world with officially registered oil production, the first commercial oil well was built here, the first city lit with lampante oil (Bucharest) and the first gasoline exporting country at the beginning of the 20th century. All this has favored the rapid emergence and multiplication of the number of motorcycles, at a level compared to Western countries. The first motorcycle races are attested on the Romanian territory since 1923, the motorcycling enthusiasts being in those years especially the great lovers of horse riding and in general those who loved horses.
The Romanian Motorcycling Federation invites you to celebrate together these 90 years since its establishment on the occasion of the Champions Gala in autumn 2017. All lovers of sports motorcycling in Romania are warmly welcome and invited to share with us the joy of a history that honors us.
