I am originally from Italy. I studied Philosophy and Theology in Bologna (2010-2015). After a Licentiate in Theology (STL, 2016-2019), I continued my studies in Rome, with a Licentiate in Sacred Scripture at the Pontifical Biblical Institute (SSL, 2019-2022), with a specialization in ancient languages and archaeology. I am currently enrolled in the Phd program at the École Biblique et Archeologique in Jerusalem, under the supervision of prof. A. Giambrone (SSD, 2022-). In the academic year 2023-2024, I was a visiting researcher at the Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich under the supervision of prof. K. Backhaus.
I am primarily interested in Second Temple Judaism and early Christian literature. In my dissertation project I study the space of the synagogue in the first century, especially in two different, but partly comparable literary sources: Luke-Acts and Philo of Alexandria. My intention is to uncover and weigh the agendas that moved the authors to (re)define the role, functions, and meaning of the synagogue as a spatial metonymy of Judaism.
I am also interested in the socio-cultural context of Paul’s letters, especially Galatians and Philippians, in the light of papyrological documentation from the Roman period.
As part of the ROMANA project, I investigate Luke’s double work in light of Roman philosophy and law.
