Kokedera is one of the more inconspicuous tourist attractions in Kyoto. A visit is complicated by the rigorous procedures put in place to keep the number of visitors in check but also to heighten the experience of the traveler.
The planning for a visit to the Moss temple is considerably time-consuming and should be done at least one month before the planned visit. Our small group of people consisted of Kristina and Barbara from the German Institute for Japanese Studies (ドイツ日本研究所), Wolfram, and Roman and Louise from Nichibunken.
