In upper school R&D, the aim is to find a client, where we have to solve a problem with a positive outcome for the company.
This school year, a new requirement has been added: the company must carry out socially relevant work in a developing country. As a result of this assignment, we came upon Islamic Relief Netherlands.↓
Our client is Islamic Relief. It is a company fighting for a cause: a caring world. The company was started by a group of students who wanted to improve the world together from an attic room in Amsterdam. From this, a wonderful community of different people has emerged, fighting for a better world for 30 years. A foundation that already has several projects running in 29 countries, together this allows them to improve the living conditions of the most poor and needy people.

The client expects the team to design lamps from an LED bulb and connected solar panels. By combining these two existing ideas, we are trying to help the children in Morocco so that they can still do their homework in the dark. It also solves many problems for the whole household. This idea can then of course be applied in different situations.
