Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support
ACLS is geared towards healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest or other cardiovascular emergencies or personnel in emergency response. Upon successful completion of the course, students receive a course completion card, valid for two years.
Basic Life Support (BLS)
The AHA’s BLS Course is designed for healthcare professionals and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills in a wide variety of in-facility and prehospital settings.
Heartsaver CPR AED
The Heartsaver CPR AED course trains participants to give CPR, and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a safe, timely, and effective manner. The AHA Heartsaver CPR AED Course is designed for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in CPR and AED use to meet job, regulatory, or other requirements.
Heartsaver First Aid
The Heartsaver First Aid course trains participants first aid basics for the most common first aid emergencies, including how to recognize them, how to call for help, and how to perform lifesaving skills.
Heartsaver Pediatric
The Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED course trains participants how to respond to and manage illnesses and injuries in a child or infant in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. The AHA Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED Course is designed for anyone involved in childcare who have a duty to respond to illnesses and injuries in a child or infant in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. Including: childcare workers, teachers, camp counselors, etc
Heartsaver Total
Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED Online is a self-directed course which provides students the highest quality training in the lifesaving skills of first aid, CPR, and how to use an AED. Ideal for students who want the flexibility to complete the cognitive portion of the course at their own pace and location. The Heartsaver Total track is a comprehensive course designed for those requiring training to meet OSHA or other regulatory agency requirements.
Heartsaver K12
The Heartsaver for K-12 Schools eCard may be provided by AHA Training Center Coordinators to K-12 school students, faculty, and staff who successfully complete an AHA Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED, Heartsaver CPR AED, or Heartsaver First Aid Course. “Faculty” refers to teachers and coaches; “staff” refers to an employee of a K-12 school or K-12 school system.
Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED
Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED is geared towards anyone with little or no medical training who needs a course completion card for their job, regulatory (e.g., OSHA), or other requirements or anyone who wants to be prepared for an emergency in any setting. Upon successful completion of the course, students receive a course completion card, valid for two years.
ACLS Instructor Essentials
The ACLS Instructor Essentials Course is designed to prepare instructor candidates to teach AHA Instructor-led and blended learning courses. The course educates instructor candidates on how to adequately use AHA Instructor teaching materials, ensure that students meet learning objectives, offer student coaching skills, provide an objective skills performance evaluation, and follow AHA Instructor and course policies. The course covers core content and discipline-specific content required to teach AHA courses. In order to be a ACLS Instructor you must complete the online ACLS Instructor Essentials Course in addition to attending a in person Instructor Essentials class at the Training Center. You must have a current ACLS Provider card before taking the Instructor Essentials course.
BLS Instructor Essentials
The BLS Instructor Essentials is a course that prepares candidates to become AHA BLS Instructors. The course covers the core competencies, resources, materials, formats, completion requirements, flexibility options, and maintenance requirements of an AHA Instructor. The course also teaches candidates how to use the AHA Instruction Cycle, which involves preparing, teaching, testing, remediating, closing, and keeping current. The course requires candidates to demonstrate skills in debriefing, feedback, remediation, and skills testing. In order to be a ACLS Instructor you must complete the online BLS Instructor Essentials Course in addition to attending a in person Instructor Essentials class at the Training Center. You must have a current ACLS Provider card before taking the Instructor Essentials course.

Family & Friends CPR
The Family & Friends CPR Course teaches the lifesaving skills of adult Hands-Only CPR, adult CPR with breaths, child CPR with breaths, adult and child AED use, infant CPR, and mild and severe airway block for adults, children, and infants. Skills are taught in a dynamic group environment using the AHA’s research-proven practice-while-watching technique, which provides students with the most hands-on CPR practice time possible. Upon completing the Family & Friends CPR course you do NOT receive a certification of completion for the course.
