SHORT BIO

He received his Diploma in Electronic Engineering and Computers from Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon, Portugal in 2000. In 2008, he earned an MSc degree in Information Technology from the University of Extremadura, Spain, with a focus on Face recognition on still frontal images.

He holds a Ph.D. in aerospace technologies and computer science from the University of Vigo and the University of Extremadura, Spain, specializing in Evolving a Multi-classifier System for Multi-pitch Estimation of Piano Music with Cartesian Genetic Programming. He was a researcher in the Artificial Evolution Group at the University of Extremadura from 2019 to 2021.

Since 2001, he has been a lecturer for the Computer Science Department of the Polytechnic of Leiria. He is currently a researcher at the Polytechnic of Leiria in CIIC – Computer Science and Communication Research Center.
