It is important that you take a moment to review our guidelines for printing with the Roland BN20-A at the Idea Lab.
Please note: the Idea Lab is an experiential learning space and does not operate as a print shop. With this in mind, we place emphasis on you being involved at the beginning and final stages of your print jobs.
Current Humber Polytechnic and University of Guelph-Humber students, staff, and faculty can use the Idea Lab's Roland BN20-A.
Booking confirmation emails will be sent to your Microsoft 365 Humber email address ending in '@students.humber.ca' or '@humber.ca' (please note that this is different from Humbermail).
Humber email:

The Roland BN20-A is available at the Lakeshore campus Idea Lab.
You may reserve the Roland BN20-A for up to two (2) hours per day, with a maximum of four (4) hours per week.
Printing duration will vary based on the type and size of your print:
For prints using 12 inches of material or less, allow at least 30 minutes.
For prints using greater than 12 inches of material, allow at least 60 minutes.
For prints using 24 inches or more of material, allow at least 90 minutes.
Please add 30 minutes to your estimated print time when making your booking to accommodate file preparation, validation, printer setup, vinyl weeding, and heat press application.
If you’re unsure how much time to book, we suggest starting with a 30-minute appointment to review your print settings and get an accurate estimate. After that, you can schedule a second booking to send your print job.
In the booking form, upload your print-ready graphic(s) in a high-resolution PDF format.
Please ensure that your artwork is your own original design or uses open-licensed assets (e.g., Creative Commons).
Once your request is submitted, Idea Lab staff will review and respond to your booking request within one (1) business day. Once approved, a booking confirmation will be sent to your Humber email.
Please arrive within 15 minutes of your booking time, otherwise your booking may be cancelled.
If you cannot attend your booking, please cancel it via the link in your booking confirmation or reminder email, emailing idealab@humber.ca, or calling 647-577-6432. Repeated no-shows may result in a loss of Idea Lab booking privileges.
During your booking, Idea Lab staff will be available to assist with setting up your print job and using the equipment. You must remain on site for the duration of use.
