If you’ve printed on Roland heat-transfer material (HTV), there are a few extra steps to apply your design to your garment using the Idea Lab's heat press.
Start by weeding out all excess material from around the print-and-cut graphic.
2. Cut a piece of clear heat transfer mask slightly larger than your printed design.
Remove the paper liner from the transfer mask and lay the sticky side on top of the graphic.
Swipe with firm, even pressure to ensure the cut design adheres to the mask.
3. Prepare the Cricut AutoPress.
The Cricut AutoPress is a clamshell-style, hands-free heat press. It adjusts pressure automatically for materials up to 2 inches/5 centimeters thick and auto-releases when the pressing cycle is complete.
For pressing Roland Heat Transfer Material, set the AutoPress to 330 degrees.
Pre-press your garment for 5-10 seconds to remove any moisture from the fabric and smooth out wrinkles.
4. Use the transfer mask to lift the graphic off its carrier sheet backing.
Place the graphic in the desired location on the garment.
5. Place the protective Teflon sheet on top, then press the garment for 30 seconds.
6. Remove from the press. When the design is cool to the touch, peel off the transfer mask.
