If you want deep, balanced audio for critical listening and studio monitoring, choose Roland RH-5; if you need a sweatproof, open-ear solution specifically designed for running and swimming, choose PSIER Bone Conduction Headphones.
These two devices occupy completely different worlds of audio technology. One is a wired, over-ear monitor built for precision in a quiet room, while the other is a wireless, bone-conduction sport headset built to keep you safe and connected on the move. Picking the right one depends entirely on whether your priority is sound fidelity or situational awareness during physical activity.
• Roland RH-5: Offers dynamic yet balanced tone with 40mm drivers and a secure, lightweight fit, but requires a wired connection and blocks out external noise. Best for musicians and home listeners who need accurate playback.
• PSIER Bone Conduction Headphones: Delivers open-ear comfort, IPX8 waterproofing, and 32GB internal storage for phone-free workouts, but sacrifices traditional bass depth due to its bone conduction design. Best for runners and swimmers who need to hear their surroundings.
• The Verdict: Choose the Roland RH-5 for music production and casual streaming at home; choose the PSIER for active lifestyles where safety and sweat resistance are non-negotiable.
The Roland RH-5 is an entry-level model in Roland's acclaimed RH range, designed first and foremost for everyday music making and audio playback. It features 40mm dynamic drivers that deliver a dynamic-yet-balanced tone, making it an ideal companion for digital pianos, guitars, synths, and digital drums. If you are a musician looking for headphones that won't color the sound too heavily, this pair provides a natural response across a wide frequency range from 10 Hz to 22,000 Hz. The impedance sits at 32 ohms with a sensitivity of 92 db, ensuring they work well with various audio sources without needing a dedicated amplifier.
What stands out most about the RH-5 is its construction for long sessions. They feature a secure and comfortable lightweight design weighing only 0.19 kg, which prevents ear fatigue during extended use. The over-ear enclosure material is plastic, finished in black, and includes soft ear cushions that sit comfortably around the ear rather than pressing directly against the pinna. This makes them excellent for streaming music after a session is over, complete with powerful bass and crystal clear highs for casual listening. However, because they are closed-back and wired via a 3.5 mm jack, they isolate you from your environment. You will not be able to hear traffic or conversations while wearing them.

This product is perfect for the home studio enthusiast, the keyboard player, or anyone who values a "balanced tone" above all else. It is also a great choice for travelers who want high-quality audio on a plane or train, provided they don't mind the cable. However, if you are looking for "deep bass ear clip headphones for running," this is not the tool for the job. The wired nature means you are tethered to your device, and the closed-back design creates a seal that can be disorienting or unsafe when moving through busy streets. It is also not suitable for wet environments, as there is no water resistance rating listed for this model.
The PSIER Bone Conduction Headphones are engineered for the active individual who refuses to compromise on safety or connectivity. These open-ear earbuds utilize bone conduction technology with 14mm drivers to transmit sound through the cheekbones, leaving your ear canal completely open. This design allows you to hear your surroundings clearly, eliminating worries about missing crucial sounds like approaching cars or cyclists while jogging. The fit is stable and secure, featuring soft, skin-friendly silicone cushions that provide a gentle touch. An adjustable strap is included in the package to accommodate different head sizes, ensuring the device stays put even during vigorous movement.
Durability is a major selling point here. With an IPX8 waterproof rating, these headphones can be submerged in water up to two meters deep for one hour, making them truly sweatproof and suitable for intense rainstorms or full submersion during swimming. When used underwater, you simply switch to MP3 mode by double-clicking the power button, allowing you to listen to your favorite songs without a phone nearby thanks to the built-in 32GB memory capable of holding up to 4,000 songs. The battery life supports up to 8 hours of continuous playtime in Bluetooth mode, and fast magnetic charging gets you back to full power in just 1.5 hours.
This product is the ultimate choice for "sweatproof kids headphones for running" or adult athletes who want to stay hydrated and alert. The open-ear design allows for airflow, making them more comfortable to wear for extended periods in hot weather. However, users should be aware that because the ear canal is open, the experience differs significantly from traditional sealed earbuds. While the acoustic drivers deliver rich audio, the lack of isolation means you won't get the same "thumping" bass feel as a closed-back system. Additionally, the Bluetooth version is listed as 6.0 (with some data sheets noting 5.6 compatibility), offering ultra-low transmission latency, but the primary strength lies in the ability to switch seamlessly between Bluetooth and offline MP3 modes.

• Best for low-frequency impact → Roland RH-5 uses 40mm dynamic drivers for a wider frequency range starting at 10 Hz, delivering deeper bass response than the 20 Hz start of the PSIER.
• Best for multi-device connectivity → PSIER allows connecting two devices simultaneously and switching easily; Roland RH-5 is a single-source wired connection.
• Best for studio monitoring → Roland RH-5 is explicitly designed for digital pianos and synths with a balanced tone; PSIER is tuned for speech clarity and general sports listening.
• Best for running and outdoor safety → PSIER lets you hear traffic and ambient noise while listening; Roland RH-5 isolates you, which can be dangerous outdoors.
• Best value for versatility → PSIER offers 32GB storage, waterproofing, and wireless freedom; Roland RH-5 is a specialized tool for specific audio tasks.
In my opinion, if you are strictly looking for the best wireless earbuds for running, the PSIER Bone Conduction Headphones are the clear winner. The combination of IPX8 waterproofing, 8-hour battery life, and the safety-critical open-ear design makes it indispensable for any outdoor athlete. The ability to switch to MP3 mode for swimming adds a layer of versatility that the Roland RH-5 simply cannot match. However, if your goal is to create music or listen to tracks with absolute fidelity in a controlled environment, the Roland RH-5 remains the superior choice for its balanced tone and driver size. For me, the PSIER wins the day for the specific intent of for running, as it prioritizes safety and endurance without sacrificing the core music experience.
Yes, the PSIER Bone Conduction Headphones feature an IPX8 waterproof rating, meaning they can handle heavy rain and even submersion up to two meters deep. The Roland RH-5 does not have a water resistance rating and should be kept away from moisture.
No, the PSIER model comes with 32GB of internal memory that can store up to 4,000 songs. You can connect the headphones to a computer via USB to copy your music files directly onto the device for a phone-free experience.
The Roland RH-5 features 40mm dynamic drivers with a frequency range starting at 10 Hz, providing deeper bass and a more immersive audio experience. The PSIER uses 14mm bone conduction drivers with a 20 Hz lower limit, which prioritizes clarity and environmental awareness over heavy bass impact.
While the Roland RH-5 includes a conversion plug for standard and mini headphone connectors, it lacks a built-in microphone and is designed primarily for passive listening and instrument monitoring. The PSIER includes a built-in microphone for crystal-clear calls and is optimized for wireless connectivity.
