Dr. Aymen Elsheikh hails from an academic background that did not only prepare him for the challenges of academia but also how to navigate the business world, as he believes in the interconnectedness of the human knowledge and the leveraging of transferable skills. As the co-founder, former president and an advisor of Africa ELTA, Dr. Elsheikh bring strong leadership skills into the business world. As for his academic credentials, Dr. Elsheikh received his PhD in literacy, culture, and language education from Indiana University at Bloomington in the US. He has over 15 years of teaching experience in different countries including Oman, USA, UAE, Qatar, and his home country Sudan. His research interests include language teacher identity and knowledge, English as an international language, and language teacher associations, among others. He has published and given presentations and invited talks at numerous national and international conferences. He is the lead editor of the book “The role of language teacher associations in professional development” and is currently leading the editing of a book on language teacher associations in Africa. This diverse background in academia and leadership does not only aid Dr. Elsheikh in navigating educational and academic initiatives but also in leading business prospects in other fields such as agriculture and mining.
