Rose Wallet ("we," "our," or "the app") is a privacy-first personal finance application designed to help you track and manage your spending. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring that your personal data remains under your control.

Data Collection and Storage

What We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to external servers

• We do not track your activity or usage patterns

• We do not share your data with third parties

• We do not use analytics or advertising SDKs

• We do not store your full SMS content

What We Store Locally

• All data is stored exclusively on your device using local SQLite database:

• Transaction records: Amount, date, merchant name, and category extracted from SMS

• Spending patterns: Templates created to recognize your bank's SMS format

• Budget settings: Your monthly budget preferences

• App preferences: Settings and onboarding completion status

SMS Permission

Why We Request SMS Access

Rose Wallet requests SMS read permission to automatically detect and parse financial transaction messages from banks, credit cards, and UPI services.

How We Process SMS

• We only process SMS from verified financial senders (banks, payment apps, UPI services)

• We ignore OTPs, promotional messages, and personal conversations

• All SMS processing happens entirely on your device using on-device machine learning

• We extract only: bank/sender name, transaction amount, date, and merchant name

• We do not store the original SMS content—only the derived transaction data

Your Control

• You can deny SMS permission and still use the app with manual expense entry

• You can revoke SMS permission at any time through your device settings

• Revoking permission will not delete previously extracted transaction data
