Ensuring taxpayer dollars are spent wisely is a top priority for me. Keith will reduce wasteful spending by streamlining the Sheriff's Office, eliminating unnecessary supervisory positions, and reorganizing the department to focus more resources on front-line services. This will allow him to cut administrative overhead and reinvest in what matters most serving the community.

Keith is committed to enhancing public safety, ensuring schools and children are secure. He aims to optimize resources by reducing unnecessary costs associated with top-heavy command staff. Furthermore, Keith will ensure all Fredericksburg sheriff vehicles are clearly marked and visible to the public. He plans to eliminate wasteful spending on take-home vehicles for part-time deputies, and requiring those with patrol vehicles to actively patrol Fredericksburg as part of their duties. Born and raised in Fredericksburg, Keith Rodgers has deep roots in the community, with generations of family calling the area home. His unwavering dedication to the safety and well-being of Fredericksburg residents has shaped his entire career.
Keith began his professional journey in security at Mary Washington Hospital before transitioning to the Rappahannock Regional Jail, where he became a trained and certified officer under the Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS). His twelve years with the Fredericksburg Sheriff's Office were marked by strong, lasting relationships with both community members and law enforcement partners.
Currently, Keith works under a federal contract with the Department of Homeland Security, with oversight from the Federal Protective Service. This experience has equipped him with invaluable skills and insights at the federal level, but his heart remains firmly rooted in Fredericksburg.
Throughout his career, Keith has been committed to building stronger community relationships and improving operational efficiency. Now, he is ready to bring his experience and vision to the next level as your Sheriff. As your next sheriff, I am committed to ensuring that the citizens receive the safety and security they deserve from an agency that currently operates at a minimal level. In my capacity as a former deputy of the Fredericksburg Sheriff's Office, I can attest that the department's duties are not fully utilized to serve the people of Fredericksburg. Currently, deputies work an 8-hour shift, but only provide 3-4 hours of dedicated service to the community. Furthermore, the command staff is disproportionately large compared to the number of regular deputies. I pledge to ensure that all personnel under my leadership, including myself, work diligently for the people during every hour of duty. By streamlining the command staff and discontinuing the take-home car program for part-time deputies, I aim to reduce costs for the city. In accordance with Virginia's requirements, all departments must be certified in AED, First Aid, and CPR. While the current training program meets the minimum standards, I plan to provide additional training opportunities to all deputies, not just the command staff or select individuals. Under my leadership as sheriff, we can achieve cost savings while enhancing public safety by increasing the number of deputies on patrol in our roads and neighborhoods. •VOTE RODGERS4SHERIFF 2025• Go Local FXBG FXBG
