Abstract: After a welcoming address by Betty Yee, the California State Controller, Donnie Fowler will talk about how Progressives and the Democratic Party are in a mess that did not begin (nor will it end) with Donald Trump. It's been brewing for at least a decade, arguably for more than 50 years if you look at the clever, patient, and hard work that conservatives have been doing around the country. Campaigns, including the ones we're looking at in 2018, are really about choices. How we got to the historically low point we are at now -- with Democrats holding fewer elected offices nationwide than they have since the 1920s -- was a choice. What we do going forward also involves choices. And because no one is really in charge of the progressive movement and the Democratic Party right now, the choices that matter must be made by us.

Betty T. Yee is an American politician and has served as California State Controller since 2015. She previously served as a member of the California Board of Equalization from 2004 to 2015.

Betty Yee will be follow by Donnie Fowler.
