Q: Does my child need to be potty trained?
A: Yes. The students need to be able to take care of all their bathroom needs by themselves. However, I understand that accidents happen. If you are concerned this may happen, they can bring a change of clothes in their backpack. If they aren't able to take care of it themselves, I will call you. In the meantime, I'll help them feel comfortable until you arrive.
Q: When is school in session?
A: We follow the Davis County School Calendar. We will be having individual assessments the week of August 18-22 and class begins Tuesday, August 26th.
Q: How do I know if preschool is cancelled?
A: Group communication will be through GroupME. You are also welcome to text me anytime with questions.
Q: Can I come into the classroom anytime?
A: Yes. The front door will be locked during school hours. You are welcome to call my cell phone or ring the door bell to enter. Parents are welcome as long as it doesn't interfere with the childrens' learning.
Q: Can I volunteer?
A: Yes. We will have a signup for class parties: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Valentine's Day parties.
Q: Will there be any programs or graduation?
A: We will have a program for families the last week of class in December, usually the week before Christmas. We will also have a year end program for the 3-4 year old class, the 4-5 year old class will have a program combined with graduation.
Q: What if I'm running late and can't pick up my child on time?
A: Please notify me if you'll be more than 5 minutes late. There will be a $10 charge if your child is left after school for 10 minutes or more.
Q: When is tuition due?
A: Tuition is due before the 5th of the month. There will be a $10 late fee if not paid by the 10th of the month. You can pay for the full year or month by month.
Q: Will there be any field trips?
A: We don't have any field trips planned for this year. As a mom of 6, I appreciated my kids' preschool teachers caring for them during preschool time so I could run errands, exercise, or whatever else I needed to get done while they were in preschool. I want to give the parents a chance to do the same. Since field trips take a lot of parent help, I prefer letting the parents take their children on outings outside of preschool time. If you are strongly in favor of field trips, please talk to me. I'm willing to add them if the majority of the parents would prefer them for their child. Otherwise, I will care, teach and love your children while you can get a few hours of stuff done(or go home and take a nap:)
