Roberta Holehouse McGuiney has over 25 years of playing and coaching experience in volleyball. Her philosophy on coaching was formed at a young age, having been taught by coaches who focused on technique over results and pushed her never to settle. Her competitive nature and love for the sport allowed her to play for the highly decorated and prestigious Penn State University Women's Volleyball team.
During her time as a libero and defensive specialist at Penn State (2005-2008), she won 2 NCAA Division 1 National Championships and 4 Big Ten Championships, setting a record for most consecutive sets won in a college season; an NCAA record that still stands today!
After playing overseas professionally, she found a love for sand and grass volleyball and continues to play throughout the summer. While focusing on her doubles game, she was given opportunities to coach for local universities and fell in love with coaching. Eventually, she found herself building a career in club volleyball.
Volleyball has created many incredible opportunities and relationships in her life, and she feels it is only right to give back to the sport by training the next generation of players.
In addition to ROCK., she is also the owner of PoweR.House Volleyball, a program dedicated to training players at a high level.
Casey Pyszczymuka (Piz-a-muka) was born and raised in Hawaii, where volleyball is the king of all sports. She immediately caught the “volleyball bug” during her first practice as a 6th grader, and from that point on, her love for volleyball has continued to grow. Being from Hawaii, she was fortunate to have played for (and with) many highly respected volleyball coaches/players in volleyball history.
Casey strongly believes in developing six rotation players and believes every player should have a strong volleyball IQ and strong ball control, regardless of their volleyball position(s). The more tools in your toolbox, the better!
While in high school, Casey played for the USA Youth National team and the nation's 1999 #1 high school team. As a collegiate athlete, she was a 4 year letter winner, a three-year captain, and received a full-ride to Rutgers University as an OH, RS, and DS/L.
Casey has been a head coach for travel/club and high school volleyball for over 12 years and is the current varsity coach at West Chester Rustin HS (2021-present).
Her passion for coaching flourishes as she values how sports shape well-rounded individuals, fostering discipline, time management, leadership, and most importantly, teamwork. It inspires her to be a part of players' athletic journeys!
In addition to ROCK, she owns Keiki Klub Sports, a developmental volleyball program for "keiki" (kids) in grades K-8.
Kathy Arnow has been involved with the sport of volleyball for over 40 years. Starting as a player and coach in Indiana, then as a coach, player parent & club administrator in Pennsylvania, volleyball has been a huge part of her life. During her time in Indiana she was able to train with high level coaches who taught her to focus on developing fundamental skills. This is the foundation for her coaching philosophy which she brings to ROCK Volleyball.
Kathy believes passionately in the value of youth sports. Playing a sport is much more than the game, it can teach important life skills and lessons but the experience has to be positive for those life experiences to grab hold. She takes the role of coach very seriously knowing the significant influence she has on players at all ages & skill levels.
Through the years she has coached multiple sports, both boys and girls, and does her best to coach to the specific player, realizing every player does not respond the same way to the same coaching style. Kathy lets players know its ok to make mistakes, grow from those mistakes by working hard and still having fun playing a sport you love. She coaches the way she would like to be coached, holding the bar high, asking players to reach for that bar while applauding their efforts and trying to make sure they develop a love for the game. She always wants her players to know she is invested in them.
Kathy hopes to continue to spread her love & passion for volleyball to everyone who comes to train with ROCK Volleyball.
