Howdy, we're the Disses!
Together our family—Nick and Paula and our four kids, Carson, Emma, Alea, and Griffin—have all been born and raised in Detroit Lakes and have called Nick’s family land home for more than 25 years. The ranch itself has deep roots, originally homesteaded by Nick’s grandfather, Art, back in the 1940's. For decades the acres were home to thousands of apple trees that were Art's pride and joy. Today many of the trees still stand and produce delicous apples of a wide variety still harvested by our family.
What once started as a lighthearted idea for Nick to just be able to say he “owns bison” quickly grew into something much bigger—a true family passion. Today, our bison meat can be found in local restaurants, storefronts, and in your neighbors’ freezers. We’ve loved every step of the journey, from raising our kids on the ranch to caring for the herd and embracing the hard work and simple joys that come with ranch life.
Family is our everything, and boy are we blessed with a lot of it!
