What is STEM Education?
Education in science, technology, engineering, and math is referred to as STEM. Students are helped by this multidisciplinary approach to thrive in college and in their future employment. A STEM education places a strong emphasis on problem-based, experiential learning.

STEM education is essential because it fosters a love for invention and the development of critical thinking abilities. Beyond the advantages of mastering STEM subjects, STEM supports the inquisitive learning and problem-solving processes that are essential for success in a wide range of activities and disciplines.
How can STEM education shape the future?
In order to meet the needs of a dynamic and changing workforce, STEM education gives our future leaders the skills they need to comprehend and address some of the most challenging problems of the future. An increase in the need for STEM abilities may be attributed to the technological boom of the 1990s. Businesses and governmental organizations are attempting to get an advantage over rivals by utilizing STEM expertise. To address the rising need for STEM-skilled workers, STEM education is required.
STEMSOS Model:
Project Based Learning (PBL) is a constructivist instructional approach where students are engaged in meaningful inquiry of personal interest to them and where collaboration and personalized learning are emphasized. Research confirms that PBL is an effective and enjoyable way to learn and develop deeper learning competencies required for success in college, career and civic life. -Buck Institute of Education
STEMSOS is a rigorous, interdisciplinary, standards-focused, and engaging STEM teaching approach that is teacher-facilitated, student-centered and directed through sets of project- and inquiry-based (P&IBL) projects. STEMSOS PBL approach is to maintain the focus on standards-based teaching while enriching and extending the learning of students through PBL projects. The goal is to promote not only collaborative skills and student ownership of learning but also to promote student success in state and national standards.
STEMSOS PBL Showcase is designed to promote and share exemplary student work in PBL projects that can serve as valuable learning and teaching tools for students, parents, teachers, and other educators.
