The 5 of October we visited the camargue is a natural park made by humans and with the form of a delta. In the park the guide showed us five different ecosystems that we can find on the camargue, with some species of each ecosystems. If you don't know, an ecosystem is a geographic zone where we can find flora and fauna with special characteristics. So, he shows us the forest, the wet-land, the sansouire, the pelonse et le roselière. Also he teach us about the invasive species that lives in the camargue, and about how they get there too.
I take this photo from internet, it's not mine, but I want to show you how look a forest, also I don't know if this photo is of the camargue or not. In the forest live species like the bat, the bay, the poplar...
This photograph is also from internet. In this case, the ecosystem is wet-land. Here live species like frogs, snakes, pigs, boars...
This landscape is a sansouire. A sansouire is an ecosystems that have in the underground a liquid compose of water and salt. Here live boars, foxes, badgers...
Also he shows us the pelonse landscape, but I can't find a photograph of it.
Finally this is the roselière. In the roselière we can find many types of birds and also plenty of reed.
Now I'm going to talk about the invasive species that lives in the camargue. The first one is the red crayfish from Louisiana, that get to the camargue because they're tasteful, so the habitants wanted to raise them on the camargue.
The second one is the North American red-eared turtle, and it's call that way because the zone where they have the ear is red.
The last one is a plant called Jussie, and it's characterized by it's color yellow.
After, we went to Le domaine du petit Saint-Jean, I don't know if that has a translation in English, that is a farm where they cultivate things being respectfully with the camargue. He tell us that, in the farm, they create some ecosystems for help the agriculture. After we started to walk and we saw a place full of trees, and he tell us that they found that plant trees with the crops, the production will be bigger. Finally we saw a type of plant, and he tell us that with that plant we can filter the water of the toilet, and use it with the crops, and that they try the most ecologist possible, so they have solar panels too. The information that he gave us were so interesting, but the place were full of mosquitoes, so it weren't comfortable.
