Nature can be beautiful, but it sometimes leads to natural disasters, such as landslides and wildfires.
Many retaining walls and other infrastructures are built to prevent natural disasters.
But it’s at the cost of damage to the natural environment.
So many wildlife and insects are killed in the process.
Our question is, can we live together with nature, ensuring human safety, and biodiversity?
We are trying to solve this with a small robot "NetBall."
NetBall. It’s a swarm of networked robots.
Each robot is capable of monitoring its natural surroundings and detecting dangers.
And a swarm of these robots can work together to support the roots of trees and minimize disaster-affected areas.
Environment Monitoring
So it can monitor environment, collect data and send it to a control center.
Then, it will be analyzed along with data from other NetBalls. Installing NetBalls around the world will help us better understand natural environment and potentially predict natural disaster occurrence.
Danger Notification
NetBall can roll around in a sphere.
It also has the ability to emit light and sound, which can quickly alert people to danger, especially in the mountains.
It’s a society where NetBalls are walking around cities, villages and mountains, collecting environmental data.
We want to make NetBall not to be a scary robot, but to be a widely recognized, adorable, and reliable robotic system.
And we want to deliver the future generation with a world where we humans, coexists with nature.
