Plug the Petoi USB Adapter into the NyBoard. Look at the pin labels (GND GND+5 TX RX DTR) on the Adpater and the NyBoard and be sure they are lined up correctly. See photo:
Connect the USB mini cable to the USB Adapter and your computer.
Use the Petoi Desktop App "Firmware Updater"

Click "Upgrade the Firmware" and follow the instructions.
In response to the "Reset Join Offsets" prompt click "No." We'll do this later.
"Calibrate IMU" - Click "Yes."
Unplug the USB cable from the USB Adapter to stop the beeping.
(The Bittle repeats a series of tones to warn that the battery pack isn't connected and turned on.)
Plug the USB cable into the battery pack to charge the battery.
During charging, the battery pack LED is red.
When the charging is complete, the LED is green.
Start with Step 4. Assemble the Frame
Note that our kits have the "NyBoard V1_2"
We'll do this together, step-by-step. If you have completed a step before others, you can offer assistance to other students.
Important:
You should NOT attach the legs to the servos before the first-time calibration.
When the servos are powered off, their output shafts are rotated to random angles. If you attach the legs, the robot won't know where the legs are pointing. When the robot is powered, the legs could run into each other or collide with the body. The servos may be damaged after getting stuck for a long time.
Complete 5.2 Prepare for calibration
Disconnect the USB cable from the battery pack.
Connect the battery pack cable to the bottom of the NyBoard. Be careful to insert it correctly and push it all the way in.
(Red is +, Black is -)
Insert the battery pack into the 2 larger holes on the bottom of the NyBoard. The side with the LED and button is nearest Bittle's head. Slide the battery back forward towards the head.
Connect the USB cable to the USB Adapter Board.
Press and hold the button the on battery pack until the LED turns on. It will be blue. Bittle will power up.

Skip 7.4 Body cover and tail - We are going to continue using the USB adapter, so leave the body cover and tail off for now.
