#36739
Hello! We are team RoboMavericks #36739. Our team is based in Fremont, California. Currently, our team has 2 members and is growing. We have experience in Robotics through FLL, VEX IQ, and Arduino. As of now, we are a rookie team in FTC. With your support, we hope to build success and continue to compete in the BioBuzz challenge, also innovating to become a competitive team!
FTC stands for First Tech Challenge, which is a competetion in which you engineer, program, and work as a team to solve problems. Teams design, build, and test the robots that they create.
From the FTC Website, "FIRST® Tech Challenge students work together with their mentors to design and build dynamic robots to compete in an exciting game released every September. On and off the field, students develop STEM skills, engage in community outreach, practice engineering innovation, and build confidence to help them succeed."
Mavericks means being a standout, not following the crowd, and being independent. We are also creative and use critical thinking and superior problem-solving and thinking to make everything run smoothly.
A "maverick" is someone who refuses to follow the crowd and thinks completely outside the box. In programming, a "Maverick" coder breaks traditional conventions to find faster, more innovative solutions.
In the logo, "Public Class Mavericks extends Robot { }" means we can code on a Maverick level.
To us, being the Mavericks means we build our own way, think independently, and compete with bold creativity that sets our FTC team apart.
