Weekly Updates

Week 6:

  • Brainstormed project ideas, sensors, peripherals, and interfaces

  • Created this website and a proposed schedule

Week 7:

  • Researched what parts would work well for our purposes

  • Developed flowcharts of software implementation

Week 8:

  • Bought the parts we determined

  • Continued working on software: PID controller implementation and Kalman Filter implementation

Week 9:

  • Assembled the mechanical structure of the robot

  • Began the initial prototyping stage and establishing communication with our interfaces

Week 10:

  • Tested motor functionality via motor drivers

  • Ran a self balancing testing phase using our PID controller together with the Kalman Filter

  • Used a Bluetooth module to pilot the robot using a remote control
