Robin Jéquier grew up in the West Midlands of Britain and studied piano and organ at The Royal Academy of Music in London.
On graduation he took up a post with a national charity, before changing tack to serve in the British Army for the next sixteen years.
During his military career he served in Britain, Northern Ireland, Cyprus and Germany. He was stationed in West Berlin when the infamous Wall opened up on 9 November 1989!
On completing his service in the forces he worked in finance and in fundraising consultancy. He particularly enjoyed his involvement in a fundraising campaign for one of the UK's largest armed forces charities, Blind Veterans UK.
Robin is married with three adult sons, one of whom suffers from a genetically inherited disease, an incurable condition which first triggered Robin’s interest in genetics.
With a lifelong ambition to publish a thriller, it was learning about the benefits and risks of gene therapy and gene editing that inspired Robin to write The Gene Deal, his first novel.
His home is in Wiltshire where Robin lives with his wife and dog, and where he still plays the organ.
