How I find the cheapest flights possible...

2 Words... Google Flights

Google Flights provides a way to....

If you live within multiple airports I recommend selecting both when setting your departing destination. For example, if you live in South Florida you may consider flying out of Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, or Palm Beach.

If you are looking ahead to a future trip you can sign up to receive alerts on a particular route should the price change.

My favorite feature is the explore mode, here you can provide the dates you are looking to travel or if you have flexibility in particular months. Then you can browse the world map, and Google will show the cheapest flights in destinations across the globe.

Other helpful tools: Google Flights does not show Southwest Airlines flights, so it's worth checking with them on some US domestic routes. You can sign up for free at Scott's Cheap Flights and receive emails that cover cheap flights all across the globe. My day gets a little boost every time I receive one of their emails like "Flights to Hawaii under $300 roundtrip".
