I am a PhD candidate in economics at Universidad del Rosario in Colombia.  Interested in how the development of the financial system, the abundance of fossil fuels, and their effects on the environment interact. With prior experience implementing monetary policy and financial programming in these settings.

My study focuses on the relationship between financial development and carbon intensity and the availability of fossil fuels, particularly in developing nations.  Use dynamic panel data and synthetic control approaches to find evidence that fossil abundance in emerging markets impedes financial progress and harms the environment.

My job market paper examines how institutional frameworks in countries with abundant oil threaten the growth of financial systems, when national oil companies are established and interest rate regulations (financial repression) are put in place.
