About Me
I am a Senior Lecturer in Law at the University of Queensland. I research mainly in legal philosophy, and teach contract law.
My published work explores a variety of issues across legal philosophy, including:
Theories of legal authority
The semantics and pragmatics of legal language
Formal theories of rights and rights-reasoning
Formal theories of legal reasoning (especially common law reasoning)
Artificial intelligence and law
I am currently an Associate Member of the ARC Centre for Excellence for Automated Decision-Making and Society. My current work with the Centre examines the ideal of explainability and its implications for the automation of legal reasoning.
You can read an (oldish) interview with me about my work here.
