Hi! My name is Robert Johnson. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Ohio, and I work in private practice in North Canton, Ohio. I graduated from Walsh University with a Master of Arts in Counseling and Human Development- Clinical Mental Health in the summer of 2022.
What I love most about working as a counselor is the opportunity to offer unconditional acceptance, empathy, and positive regard to another in exchange for the great privilege of witnessing their growth. To be a part of this process of supporting a person as they realize and unlock the strength to overcome whatever it is that stands in their way is something that I find extremely meaningful, humbling, and inspirational.
I am great a believer in the remarkable strength that lies within each of us. In order to give this strength a chance to reveal itself, I aspire to create the sort of safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment alongside an unconditional sense of respect for and belief in the person sitting across from me.
I would be honored to walk alongside you.

General Treatment Options and Approach
I primarily work with individuals. I offer both in-person and telehealth options for counseling. Some common treatment approaches I take are person-centered, solution-focused, cognitive-behavioral, and mindfulness-based. However, I believe that a good counselor is one who is able and willing to be flexible and individualistic in how they approach each client and who is able to remain humble and open-minded enough that they constantly are seeking to learn from and listen to their colleagues, clients, and communitites throughout their career. Please feel free to contact me with any questions about my approach to counseling.
