The SC-ASTA Cello Choir is an annual event every September since it first took place at the University of South Carolina in Columbia in 1980.
The American String Teachers Association (ASTA) South Carolina Cello Choir and Workshop is for cellists of all ages and ability levels. The annual Cello Choir has taken place every September since its inception at the University of South Carolina in 1980. The event alternates between the University of South Carolina, Furman University, Bob Jones University, Converse College and the College of Charleston.
Professionals, amateurs, teachers and students from around S.C. and the Southeast region take part in this musical celebration, learning from internationally renowned clinicians and music faculty.
Cellists of all ages and levels are invited to participate in this year's Cello Choir at the University of South Carolina. We especially invite out-of-state cellists to join us. This is a terrific weekend event for cello lovers – from beginners who can read music to professionals in the field. All are welcome and we hope to see you there.
