I am a PhD candidate in the School of Computing and Information Systems at the University of Melbourne, supervised by Prof Nic Geard and Prof Daniel Capurro. My PhD research focuses on modelling the impact of mass casualty incidents on the provision and utilisation of emergency department services. Specifically, I design and evaluate computational models for disaster preparedness and response. More broadly, I am interested in health AI, crisis informatics, and complex systems, with the aim of developing data-driven models to strengthen health system resilience.
My PhD is supported by the Melbourne Research Scholarship. I hold an honorary appointment at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and have been awarded the 2023 Melbourne Centre for Data Science (MCDS) Doctoral Academy Fellowship and the 2025 Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology (FEIT) Visiting Fellowship. I was a research intern at the National Institute of Informatics (NII) in Tokyo under the supervision of Prof Asanobu Kitamoto. I was also selected for the inaugural cohort of the AHLI Health AI Summer Camp.
A fun fact about my name: my first name is "Roben"—the Ro comes from my mom, Rovie, and the ben comes from my dad, Benjamin. My last name is "Delos Reyes", which is of Spanish origin and translates to of the kings.
