About me

I have been teaching orchestra (and some band) for Kalamazoo Public Schools since 1989 (Go ahead and do the math. How many years is that?!?!?), except for when I took a leave of absence so I could teach in the Central American country of Honduras, where I taught music and band for four years. I have been playing instruments since I was 8 years old, and have played in many different bands and orchestras. 

I am married and have three grown daughters and two grandsons. Besides playing and listening to music, I like reading, biking, hiking, camping, kayaking, and especially eating!

I love music and I love teaching students how to play instruments. I am always amazed at how much you will progress from the beginning of fourth grade orchestra to the end of fifth grade orchestra. I am glad to be your teacher!
