Welcome, to roastmarkt :)

Follow along on my coffee journey as I practice my latte art, share my favorite coffee shops, and try out new recipes and equipment!

I first fell in love with coffee when I had the opportunity to study abroad in the Netherlands during my senior year of college. I loved sitting by the side of a canal while sipping a cappuccino and watching people go about their lives. The architecture in the Netherlands, as well as its many outdoor markets where people from all walks of life gathered together was also the inspiration for the name, roastmarkt (markt is Dutch for market). 

When I came back, my sweet friends bought me my first espresso machine, the Breville ESP8XL Cafe Roma, which, although simple, has been useful and lots of fun. One of my favorite aspects of being able to make coffee at home is just how it has opened up opportunities for me to serve others and invite others into my home to have coffee and chat. 

For now, roastmarkt is merely just a coffee corner in my home and a space where I hope to share my love for coffee with others. Perhaps one day in the future, it might become something more!
