Things you need to know before you sign: 

• most requests for notarizations involve signing of documents;

• in all cases, all signers and required witness(es) must be present for the notarization;

• Acceptable ID - must include your photo and signature  (photo and driver's licenses or ID cards from any state, U.S. passports, U.S. military IDs, and IDs issued by a federally recognized Indian tribe. These IDs must contain a photo and signature and can be expired up to 3 years before the notarization date. Government-issued documents, including those from federal, state, county, or local governments, are also acceptable if they include a photo and signature)

• Finally, bring all pages of the document being notarized (in some cases these will be provided for you)
