If you still have an old Roadrunner email account, I know the login process can be confusing. Roadrunner email was originally provided by Time Warner Cable, and after Time Warner Cable became part of Spectrum, many older Roadrunner and RR.com email accounts continued to work.
The biggest change is that the old Roadrunner branding and login pages are mostly gone. In practice, I recommend using Spectrum Webmail rather than trying to access the old RR.com pages.
To access an older Roadrunner email account, I start with the current Spectrum Webmail sign-in page.
I enter my full email address, including the ending, together with my password.
Older addresses may end in:
@rr.com
@roadrunner.com
@twc.com
or another regional Roadrunner domain.
I always use the complete email address as the username.
The original www.rr.com Roadrunner Email Login page is no longer the normal place to access Roadrunner Webmail.
The old Home.New.RR.com page is also no longer the standard login page.
That is why I recommend going directly through Spectrum Webmail instead of searching for an old Roadrunner login page.
The mail.biz.rr.com service is separate and is intended for certain business customers.
I do not have to use Roadrunner Webmail every time I want to check my messages.
I can also add the account to:
Outlook
Mozilla Thunderbird
Android
iPhone or iPad
Other IMAP-compatible email apps
For most people, I recommend using IMAP because it keeps messages synchronized across devices.
For manual setup, these are the settings I use:
IMAP server: mail.twc.com
Port: 993
Security: SSL/TLS
Username: Full Roadrunner email address
Password: Email password
SMTP server: mail.twc.com
Port: 587
Security: STARTTLS
Authentication: Required
I use the same full email address and password for outgoing mail.
I open the email app and choose Add Account.
If Roadrunner is not listed, I select Other.
I enter my full Roadrunner email address and password, choose Manual Setup, and then select IMAP.
I enter mail.twc.com as the incoming and outgoing server and use the settings listed above.
After saving the account, my messages should begin syncing.
On an iPhone, I go to the Mail account settings and choose Add Account.
I select Other, then Add Mail Account.
I enter my name, full Roadrunner email address, password, and a description.
For both incoming and outgoing mail, I use:
mail.twc.com
I use my full email address as the username and save the account.
In Outlook, I choose Add Account and select manual setup if Outlook does not automatically detect the correct settings.
I choose IMAP and enter:
Incoming server: mail.twc.com
Port: 993
Security: SSL/TLS
Outgoing server: mail.twc.com
Port: 587
Security: STARTTLS
I also make sure outgoing authentication is enabled.
In Thunderbird, I choose Add Mail Account and enter my name, Roadrunner email address, and password.
Thunderbird may find the settings automatically.
If it does not, I enter the same IMAP and SMTP settings manually.
I recommend IMAP for most Roadrunner email users.
With IMAP, my mailbox stays synchronized across my phone, computer, and other devices. If I read or delete a message on one device, the change can also appear on the others.
POP3 mainly downloads messages to one device and is less convenient if I check Roadrunner Webmail from several places.
For most users, IMAP is the simpler choice.
