Howdy, Longhorns!

We are looking forward to the 25-26 school year. Before our school year begins on August 13, all RMS students MUST attend our Virtual Camp Longhorn. All links will go live July 15, 2025, and we ask that everyone complete their Virtual Camp Longhorn by August 1, 2025. Download the Camp Longhorn Checklist to help you prepare for camp. What documentation will I need to upload into HAC?

Immunization Records - must be SIGNED or STAMPED by the physician or his/her designee or public health personnel (including Mychart records)- typically for 7th grade, but required during a child's 11th year of age. For questions email, our registrar amccoy@humbleisd.net. Our nurse will return to campus on July 31st. Click here for more information about vaccination requirements in English and Spanish.
Proof of residency in Humble ISD - Must complete by August 1st.
* For students residing in a house, the lease, the deed, or a current utility (water, gas, or electricity) bill is required.
* For students residing in an apartment, a lease containing parent and student names or a letter from the apartment manager is required.
* If both parent and student live with a relative or friend in Humble ISD whose residence is not an apartment, the parent and the person with whom they reside must submit a notarized address affidavit form that must be picked up from RMS. Please note, when presenting this form a meeting with the campus principal, the parent/guardian, the student, and the homeowner is required. Forms must be picked up from the RMS Registrar, Ms. McCoy.

Step #1: HAC Opens July 15- Complete the Annual Update (REQUIRED)

Students who are newly registered to Humble ISD will not need to do this step. Annual update is for returning students only.

Starting July 15th, parents can complete and submit the form in the Home Access Center (HAC). For more information go here, Humble ISD Annual Update Information.

Steps for completing the Annual Update:

Log in to Home Access Center and check the student name in the top right corner. Select the drop-down circle to change to a new student, if needed.
From the Registration page, select the Update Enrollment tab.
Select Start to access the Annual Update Registration.

Step #2: RevTrak Online Purchases

In order to receive your ordered items, with the exception of the novels, on the first day of school, you will need to order by August 2nd. After the 2nd, orders will be filled once per week and delivered to students.

RELA Novels - The required novels are listed in the RevTrak link as well as the choice novels by Grade Level and Advanced or On Level.

Additional ID Badges - The first badge is free, but this link will allow you to buy extras (optional).

** The front and back of a student's ID must be visible. Please do not purchase wallet ID holders or anything that would obstruct the back of a student's ID.

Spirit Merchandise - Purchase our 25-26 spirit shirt, sweatshirt, hoodies, lanyards, string bag, and all things RMS (optional). Through this new partnership, 10% of purchases will be donated back to RMS.

Purchase PE or Pre-Athletics workout clothes- Every student needs one shirt and one pair of shorts, but two pairs of each are recommended (Required for those registered for PE or Pre-Athletics).

Dance Class Shirt - one shirt is required (two are recommended) for all students enrolled in Dance.

RMS Girls' Athletics Grays - one pair of shirts and shorts are required but two are recommended (Required for those 7th or 8th-grade girls signed up for Athletics).

RMS Boys' Athletics Grays - one pair of shirts and shorts are required but two are recommended (Required for those 7th or 8th-grade boys signed up for Athletics).

RMS Planners 2025-2026- not required, planners are helpful to organize student assignments and test if needed.

Step #3 Set Up Lunch Accounts

For those who want to set up a lunch account or add money to an existing account, you can do that here through the School Cafe link. To better assist you in how much money your child will need, review the meals and pricing information. You will need to know your student's school ID number to complete this transaction.

Step #4 7th grade and 8th Grade ONLY - Upload Physicals and Complete Rank One

If your child will be participating in athletics, cheer, drill team, or high school band (Not PE or 6th grade Pre-Athletics) during the 2025-2026 school year, you will need to complete an Emergency Card, sign the Humble ISD/UIL Rules, and, if playing football, complete the Helmet Form. These forms, along with a current physical on file (dated after Feb. 1st, 2025) must be completed prior to being allowed to participate next school year.

The forms may be found online at http://tiny.cc/humblesport or you may use the QR. It is recommended to complete the forms as a guest rather than making an account.

Additionally, if your child has a medical condition that necessitates the use of medication (asthma, diabetes, seizures, severe allergies, etc.) it is required that they have their medication at every practice or game. Please be prepared to provide necessary medications to their athletic trainer/coach before they will be allowed to participate. Medications may be picked up by the student following the end of the season or school year. This requirement is for the safety of your child as athletic trainers or coaches do not have any emergency medication. Paperwork regarding the medication must be on file with the school clinic.

RMS Annual Fund

Click here to support our students and teachers with a donation to the RMS Annual Fund.

The RMS Annual Fund is a joint effort between Riverwood Middle School, the RMS PTA, and the Humble ISD Education Foundation to raise funds to help us achieve our academic vision. With our Annual Fund, we have been able to enhance technology for students and provide updated furniture in the library and classroom spaces. Annual Fund gifts have also allowed us to send teachers to professional development opportunities giving them the training they will use that directly benefits our students. Furthermore, the Annual Fund supports campus life for students by funding many of our items in our PBIS store and supporting our monthly Culture Activities. STEP #6: PREPARING FOR THE BEGINNING OF SCHOOL

School supply kits from 1st Day School Supplies are no longer available. Orders needed to be placed prior to July 1, 2025.

If you are enrolled in PE, Pre-athletics, Athletics, or Dance you will need to provide your own combination lock. We suggest purchasing early and practicing before school starts.

Student Schedules

Schedules will be available in HAC by August 11, 2025 at noon. Course changes will NOT be permitted. Schedule corrections may be made by a counselor only if there is a scheduling error. (Ex: The student was supposed to be enrolled in a math course; there is no math course listed on the student's schedule).

Summer Reading

All students have a required summer reading assignment in RELA. Please check the link to make sure you have completed your reading before school begins.

Transportation

If you plan to ride the bus, be sure and check the bus routes so you have your pick up and drop off ready for the first day. Here is the Humble ISD transportation link.

Complete Schoology Parent Account

All parents are required to have a Schoology parent account that is linked to their student. The first opportunity for new RMS Parents is August 14, but please check back to the RMS Website for details. Most teacher communication is done through Schoology, and you will want to keep updated.

Returning parents who have a Schoology account do not have to create a new one.
