What is Trunk or Treat?

• An event where volunteers decorate their trunks and kids go from car to car for treats, games, and other Halloween fun.

Is this event free?

• YES! This event is free and fun for the whole family! We are asking for a donation to the Student Support Network to help students and families in need around Baltimore County. See the attached list for what items we are collecting.

Can anyone decorate a trunk?

•  Yes, absolutely! We invite anyone from Ridgely Middle and the surrounding community to help put on this event for the children in our area. You can sign up here if you'd like to decorate your trunk! 

Do I have to decorate a trunk to participate?

•  No, you are more than welcome to come trunk or treat if you cannot decorate a trunk!

Is this an allergy-free event?

•  Unfortunately, we cannot monitor the candy your children receive throughout the night. If you have a child with an allergy, we encourage you to check their candy before consumption. Parents should remain with their children throughout the event while trunk or treating. 

What is the bad weather plan?

•  If we have rain, our Trunk or Treat event will be relocated inside the Ridgely Middle School Cafeteria. Volunteers will be able to decorate tables (rather than trunks) and most activities will remain the same.

What contests/prizes are there?

•  There will be a costume contest and a trunk decorating contest with prizes! See above for costume/trunk decorating categories. 

What kind of costume can I wear?

• We ask that you be mindful that this is an event for children on BCPS grounds. Please keep it appropriate and modest: no gruesome masks, blood, gore, or look-alike weapons. 

How can I help?

•  Besides volunteering to decorate a trunk, we would love donations in the form of prepackaged candy to refill as needed. Contact Mrs. Freeburger at jfreeburger@bcps.org to donate.
