A Little About Who We Are

Ridgely Middle School AVID Program

RMS Principal: Dr. Seth Barish

RMS AVID Site Coordinator: Mrs. Jackie Freeburger

The AVID Program at Ridgely Middle School was established in the 2019-2020 school year by Principal, Dr. Seth Barish, and AVID Site Coordinator, Jackie Freeburger. Our program began with over 50 students applying and interviewing for the 25 spots in our first-ever AVID 8 class. Even with the COVID-19 pandemic, AVID at RMS has continued to grow and expand. We now average over 200 applicants hoping to be selected for our one 7th-grade and two 8th-grade AVID Elective Classes and are implementing AVID Strategies Schoolwide to support ALL of our students. With 75 current AVID Scholars and 152  amazing RMS AVID Alumni, we take pride in the success of our program and are so proud of the people our AVID Scholars are growing up to be! We are confident they will change the world and make our communities a better place to live!
