About

Stage 1: Pre Regional & Regional Mathematical Olympiad (PRMO and RMO)

The PRMO is a three hour written test. Standard 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th & 12th students are eligible for this test. Pre-RMO is the test for enrolment of students in RMO.

Stage 2: Indian National Mathematical Olympiad (INMO)

The INMO is a four hour written test with six problems. Only those students who are selected in RMO and those who have received an INMO Certificate of merit in same year are eligible to appear for the INMO provided they are in class XI or below. The top 30 students in merit from all over the country will be chosen as INMO awardees, the next 45 students who are in class XI or lower and have performed well in INMO, but have not qualified as INMO awardees, are awarded INMO certificate of merit. These students will be eligible to appear for next INMO directly without qualifying through RMO, provided not in class XII at the time of writing INMO.

Stage 3: International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO)

The INMO Awardees and the girls selected from INMO for training are invited to a month long training camp in April-May each year at the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education. On the basis of number of selection tests during the camp, a team of best six is selected for IMO. All the participated countries give the team of students for IMO Test each year in the hosting country.

RELATED ACTIVITIES

· European Girls Mathematical Olympiad (EGMO)

A team of at most four girl students selected at the end of IMOTC accompanied by the leader, a deputy leader and an observer represent the country at the EGMO, held in April each year in a different European country.

· Asia Pacific Mathematics Olympiad (APMO)

APMO is a contest specifically held for students in Asian countries and the countries in the rim of Pacific Ocean. The advantage of this contest is that one can participate in it being in her/his country. This is four and half hour written test with 5 problems.

Iranian Geometry Olympiad (IGO)

Iranian Geometry Olympiad is an annual academic competition for high school students. The competition has been conducted from 2014 and the competition for this year is the sixth Iranian Geometry Olympiad.

The competition is held at three levels: Elementary for 7th and 8th grade students, Intermediate for 9th and 10th grade students and Advanced for 11th and 12th grade students.

This year, the Mathematics Teachers Association will conduct the Advanced level exam in India.
