• Is it a virtual or face-to-face course?

The R&ML is expected to be face-to-face.

• What are the differences between applying for the Summer School and the scholarships?

The registration for the summer school is to attend the course, and it is mandatory. Additionally, the students can apply to 3 months funded scholarships to attend the course. There are 6 BI and 6 BII scholarships. More details here.

• I have to apply to both Summer School and scholarship.

No. The Summer School registration is independent of the scholarship application. Summer School registration is mandatory. The scholarship application is optional.

• Which one of these should I apply: BI or BII?

The BI (Research Grant) is intended for students enrolled in the University of Coimbra, in second cycle courses. The first cycle (“licenciatura” or equivalent) must be completed.

The BII (Research Initiation Grant ) is intended for students enrolled at the University of Coimbra in first cycle course.
