PHYSICAL EDUCATION

Physical Education Grading:

1.  Cardiovascular Fitness:  Mile run (5-8), 1/2 mile (2-3), 1/4 mile (K-1) or 15m PACER (K-8)

2.  Muscular Fitness:   Curlups and Pushups.  *All grades

3.  Kinesthetic Fitness:   Balance beam and Jumprope.   *All grades

4.  Motor Skills:  Soccerball kick/pass, Football catch-throw, Volleyball pass, set, spike, Basketball dribble, Hockey stick handling and Softball catch-throw.  (Practiced but not tested include badminton and pickle ball serve and volley.) *Grades 5-8

5.  Sportsmanship and participation.  **All grades

6.  Online Steps Log:  Step counter required  *Grades 5-8

-  I am recommending that every Ruth Murdoch student begin to wear a step counter in order to gain an  awareness of personal daily activity levels.

-  An awareness of daily activity levels is intended to:

     1.  Help every student become more knowledgeable about their own personal activity levels and

     2.  Lead students to set proper daily activity level goals.

-  Students are encouraged to log their DAILY AVERAGE STEPS at least once a week.
