Professional timeline

2013 Intern Physician

Started Internship at Enam Medical College and Hospital. This is a mandatory requirement to 

obtain License to practice Medicine in Bangladesh


2014 Project Research Physician

Joined the Maternal and Child Health Division of icddr,b. Was posted in the field site, situated in 

a remote village in the Northeast borders of Bangladesh. Monitored and Supervised field 

activities of several public health projects. Analyzed field data and made routine study progress 

reports, as well as conducted QC activities to ensire data compliance and transparency. 

2015 Study Physician

Promoted and started contributing to scientific writings and led the implementation of study on

developing a novel jaundice ruler to detect newborn jaundice. Worked in REDCap and worked 

on Open Data Kit (ODK) to develop tablet module for data collectors. Started using Stata in 

statistical analysis.  

2017 Clinical Fellow

While studying for Master of Public Health in Epidemiology, I opted for fellowship in pediatrics 

to sharpen clinical insights in Dhaka Hospital under the leadership of Dr Mohammod Jobayer

Chisti, which helped me a lot in my works on Maternal and Newborn

Health. 

2018 Study Physician

Joined Dr. Shams El Arifeen's team with new responsibility of being involved in projects related

to Health System Strengthening and Quality of Care relevant to Reproductive, Maternal,

Newborn, Adolescent and Child Health. Among my major responsibilities were to analyze large

scale data of population health and health facility readiness. 


2019 Research Investigator

Participated in grant and proposal writing along with previous responsibilities. Converted all my

analytic tasks to R. Started delivering reports in interactive forms, which set a new trend in

deliverables. 

2021 Study leave

Got admitted to the Master of Data Science program of UBC, Vancouver. Started as the first

student from Bangladesh to the program.

2022 Lead of Research and Knowledge Translation

Completed Master of Data Science and joined Provincial Infection Control Network of British Columbia (PICNet), which is a provincial program of Provincial Health Services (PHSA). 

2023 Business Analyst, Data and Analytics

Joined Stroke Services BC (SSBC) to pursue career working with healthcare data to bring about meaningful changes. SSBC which is a provincial program of Provincial Health Services (PHSA).
