About

The Record Linkage Interest Group (RLIG) was instigated by Dean Resnick and Jana Asher as a forum for exchanging ideas related to this topic for practitioners and data users both among ASA members and among non-members. It was accepted as an approved ASA interest group on August 6, 2021, based on the charter shown below. We anticipate receiving funds from ASA of $1,000 to maintain our activities (this is the standard amount ASA allocates to interest groups). The following officers were elected in fall 2021 to serve for calendar year 2022:

· Chair: Dean Resnick, NORC

· Chair-Elect: Mike Larsen, Saint Michael's College

· Program Chair: Rebecca Steorts, Duke University

· Program Chair-Elect: Ansu Chatterjee, University of Minnesota

· Secretary: Jeri Mulrow, Westat

· Treasurer: Brian Sloboda, University of Maryland

· Webmaster: Olivier Binette, Duke University

· Jana Asher serves as the past chair and will supervise elections during fall 2022.

We are currently co-sponsoring a lecture series with Georgetown University’s McCourt School of Public Policy, Massive Data Institute. Our first co-sponsored lecture Hausdorff Distance: A Powerful Tool to Match Households in Record Linkage” by our member Thais Menezes on February 24th at 1 p.m. U.S. Eastern Time. See this site for additional information. We intend to continue this co-sponsorship on a monthly basis. We welcome suggestions for speakers or for other activities that would be of interest to the record linkage community.
